DNS Leaks

A DNS leak means a name query reaches a resolver outside the path you intended. The relevant path depends on the application, operating system, encrypted-DNS settings, browser behavior, and whether Specola is operating as an explicit proxy or through Enhanced Mode.

Check the layers separately:

1. Identify which process sends the query.
2. Confirm the resolver configured by the application and operating system.
3. Confirm whether the query is captured by the selected Enhanced Mode backend.
4. Compare the resolver path with the route used by the resulting connection.

Changing a proxy node alone does not guarantee that DNS follows that node.
